Day 1

Welcome to Cusco!

Upon your arrival at Cusco (3400 mts/11154.9 ft), you will be welcomed by our friendly View Peru representative whom will capture the first of many lovely photos of your family in this dreamy destination. Then, you will be transferred to your enchanting Cusco hotel and after you had settled we will pick you up for lunch at one of the most well-known restaurant in Cusco.

Then, you will have the rest of the day at leisure to adjust to the altitude or wander around to explore the city by yourselves. In the afternoon, we had ready an amusing walking tour through Cusco narrow streets, firstly we will visit the Golden Temple Qoricancha which was an important Inca shrine to various deities such as the Sun, rainbow, stars, the triple deity: lightning, thunder and lightning among others. After the Spanish conquest in the 16th century, the Dominican order built the Convent of Santo Domingo on its structures in order to culturally subdue the Incas. Nowadays, both constructions coexist in a single temple.

Afterwards, we will take you to San Blas neighborhood which is also called the Cusco’s balcony because it is located on top of the Main Square. Due to its capricious topography, the houses of San Blas had to be accommodated to the narrow streets or winding slopes and each street has a different configuration. Its colonial houses hold many of the best workshops and art shops with works of the best artists in the city, as well as musicians and dancers everywhere during the diverse Cusco festivities. This fairy atmosphere has turned San Blas into one of the best places to visit for families, where you can find paintings, textiles, imagery, jewelry, ceramics, stone and wood carvings and much more!

Tonight we had prepared a delightful and special dinner at a centrally located restaurant so you can enjoy the exquisite Peruvian cuisine and gain strength for your following adventure ahead.
